Department Interrelationship
Interrelationship of National Notification Authority and SPS National Inquiry Point with the Department of Livestock Service and Food Technology and Quality Control:
To maintain food hygiene, animal and plant hygiene respectively: the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, the Department of Livestock Services, and the Department of Agriculture are taking responsibility.
There is a provision to maintain transparency between business partners when there is a possibility that existing and draft legal provisions (standards, procedures, procedures, or recommendations) may cause unwanted disruption in business. If the provisions related to SPS are not in accordance with international standards, if there is no provision of international standards, or if they are of the nature of unwanted obstacles to trade, notification should be made through the World Trade Organization. For this, each member has to arrange an SPS notification authority. For Nepal, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and Agriculture and Livestock Business Promotion Division has been designated as the SPS notification authority. The materials to be sent for notification from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Livestock Services, and Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (Filled format, final text, soft copy, etc.) should be provided to the notification authority and inquiry point. The notification materials received in this way are notified by the notification authority to the members through the World Trade Organization. If members, other bodies, or suggestions are received, the Inquiry Point plays a coordinating role.
